Train

If you are coming by train, get the s19 (it goes from Cologne, also from Cologne/Bonn airport) to Düren and get off at Buir. (You can ride the s19 pretty easy without a ticket, they only rarely check). When you arrive at Buir station, walk down the steps and turn left (away from town) cross over the highway/railway for about 5 minutes till you reach a junction, turn left and from there after another 5 minutes or so turn right down a dirt track leading straight to the main forest entrance.

Car

You can park a car/van/caravan either at the main entrance to the forest (closest to the gathering itself) or at Hambi Camp, a legal camp in the nearby village of Morschenich, about a 40 minute walk away.

Hitchhiking

For hitchiking good stops to aim for are Merzenich junction off the A4 autobahn, which runs between Aachen and Cologne, Merzenich train station is just one stop from Buir. Or Frechen-konigsdorf Europark, off the A4. From here it’s not a far walk (good description on the Cologne hitchwiki) to Frechen train station which is a few stops from Buir, from here you can get the s19 direction Duren to stop Buir (see above).

…… When you get to the main forest entrance, just follow signs until you find us! Safe travels 🙂

Workshops/discussions

Featured

Hey people,

We wanted to say something about workshops/discussions. There are a few already confirmed. We are leaving space on the timetable for you to propose your own stuff. Email us if you want (maybe we can help with transport costs) or just add them to the timetable when you arrive. We find it really important to have this kind of anti-national exchange once in a while, but this also depends on your participation!

Now to say something about wheelchair accessibility and accessibility in general. The forest is not a wheelchair-accessible place but we would like the event to be accessible to anyone who wants to come. Send us an email and we will try to make it possible.

p.s. We are still looking for more people to help in the kitchen. If it’s something you’re interested to do, again shoot us a message.

Stay safe, stay dangerous!

Cya soon!

FOREST ANTI-SPE DAYS #4

Featured

ANIMAL RESISTANCE, SPREAD THE DESTRUCTION

JOIN US FOR A GATHERING FOR ANIMAL LIBERATION, AUGUST 17-20 2023, HAMBACHER FOREST

We send these words to our comrades, known and unknown, those who feel in their hearts that the death of speciesism needs fierce and uncompromising resistance, outside organizations of every sort, without wishes of reforming this wretched civilization.

Those looking for legalistic campaigns, vegan savourism or cop-hugging pacifism are in the wrong place. These days are about attacking human supremacism and its world, its technologies and ideologies, all the cages that attempt to oppress us – and which we can empower each other to escape.

We warmly invite you to the Hambacher Forest, still squatted after 11 years, to share skills, perspectives, stories, proposals, inspiration, love, rage… whatever we need to go further in our struggles for total liberation. You don’t need money and you definitely dont need to register. Just pack your bag and find us here in August!

Propose your workshops by email or once you arrive. Come early if you want to help set up. Bring vegan food for the kitchen and other fun stuff if you like/can (but there will be free meals for everyone). And stay well away if you have racist, sexist, transphobic or otherwise oppressive views and behaviour.

Wild friends of animal liberation, you are not alone. Let’s meet each other and have some fun!

Travel + workshops [english/français]

Oh what’s up antispeeeeeee people ????

Here’s an update on the access to the event in Hambacher forest and on the discussions and skillsharing to come !

Still happening from the 21st till 25th (caffeine heads update we now have lots of coffee! but if you’re into the fancy shit maybe bring your own (; and if you want/can, please bring vegetable milk and peanut butter etc for the mornings!). And a t shirt if you want a serigraphy of the event visual !

We’re super excited with this event and to meet new people who share similar hates and passions.

We are still available on the mail adress forestantispedays[at]riseup.net if you want to reach us.

See you !

Travel

When you arrive at Buir station, walk down the steps and turn left (away from town) cross over the highway/railway for about 5 minutes till you reach a junction, turn left and from there after another 5 minutes or so turn right down a dirt track leading straight to the main forest entrance.

Or Frechen-konigsdorf Europark, off the A4. From here it’s not a far walk (good description on the Cologne hitchwiki which for some reason doesn’t want to load) to Frechen train station which is a few stops from Buir, from here you can get the s19 direction Duren to stop Buir.

The s19 also goes from Colgone/Bonn airport and Cologne central station all the way to Buir, there’s usually no controllers (more likely on weekends) but it’s easier to spot them if you sit at the very back or front. There is also sometimes security on the train but they only check for covid masks.

A bit of us is dying for promoting any blablabla capitalist blablabla but the railway overlords of germoney, Deutche Bahn, have so kindly offered the general masses the 9 euro ticket! Which you can use for one month on all regional trains throughout germoney (no fast trains) with August being the last month you can buy one. One ticket means infinite travel for the month you buy it. You can buy with cash or card at any ticket machine in germoney or online. It seems most regional trains are now very busy because of these tickets which can maybe also help you if you don’t/can’t get one.

The event is accessible in wheelchair

A FLINTA space exists for people who might need it (female, lesbian, intersex, non binary, trans, agender people)

Version francaise

A+

Accessibilite :

https://www.bahn.com/en/offers/regional/9-euro-ticket-en

– Entrainement a l’escalade : basique + quelques trucs marrants

FOREST ANTI-SPE DAYS #3

Featured

CHAOS AND RAGE, SMASH EVERY CAGE

BORDERLESS CALL:

JOIN US IN THE HAMBACHER FOREST FOR A GATHERING FOR ANIMAL LIBERATION!

In the factory farms and vivisection labs, our nonhuman comrades are already fighting back. The time is ripe – let’s share skills and perspectives on how to support their resistance! By “anti-speciesism” we don’t mean online activism, vegan capitalism or cop-hugging pacifism – we’re opening a space to plot against human supremacism, and we’ve no need for bureaucratic organizations of any kind.

Many animal rights groups have become a hotbed for fascist/homophobic/cissexist/macho/white supremacist/colonialist views and behaviour. Others promote liberalism, the state or single out human activists as animal “saviours”. We want to build on two years of anti-spe days explicitly pushing against these tendencies, uncompromising in our rejection of all forms of oppression and domestication. Let’s meet each other and make some trouble!

You can find us again in the Hambacher Forest, one of Europe’s largest autonomous spaces, still squatted after almost 10 years. (It’s a forest so be ready to camp).

We want the workshops to be more horizontal this year – you can help us by proposing your own! Some ideas we have so far:

– First aid/veterinary care for other animals

– Action planning/scouting

– Hunt sabotage

– Tech workshop

– Sharing international struggles

– Anti-civilisation anarchy + anti-speciesism

– Animal liberation + chaos

– Open discussion on abolishing pets

– Graffiti skillshare

– Self-defence

– Action climbing

– Movie night

– Theater performance (!?)

– Open mike night

Pack a sleeping bag – and coffee and peanut butter if you got it! Make it here however you can and see you in July!

More workshops/other info to be announced over next while. And be in touch if we can answer questions or otherwise help.

Make trouble + have fun (;

What to bring and to expect

Featured

FRANÇAIS EN DESSOUS

Hey people,

We’re two weeks away from the event! So we wanted to update you with some info on what to bring/expect of the gathering.

WHAT TO BRING: Your rage! Also a sleeping bag + mat, tent, personal cup + cutlery, waterproof clothing, a headtorch (with red light included is better). Also texts for the distro, if you got some. Info from your struggles, and proposals for discussions would be great as well.

ACCOMMODATION:
There will be communal structures for those who need it. (These could easily get full, so coming with a tent is nice). There is also a FLINTA* (female, lesbian, intersex, nonbinary, trans, agender) camping area/communal structure for those who want it.

FOOD: We will be providing vegan food for everyone. You are welcome to make a donation to the kitchen but this isn’t expected. For anyone with the easy possibility to donate food (also coffee!!) that would also be cool.

COPS: Previous anti-spe gatherings in the forest suggest the cops are also pretty into the topic. They might hang around a bit at times – be prepared. (Previously they tried to ID control some people, but usually you can sneak around).

CORONA: Please try not to bring corona to the forest. Masking up is anyway a good idea. We will have a limited number of rapid tests for free/donation for people who want them. The event is open air and very well ventilated.

p.s. You’re welcome to come early! And to stay longer if you want. Help with setting up/packing down is a great way to help the organizers.

p.p.s. A timetable of workshops will be posted online a few days before the event begins.

FINDING US…

BY TRAIN:
The nearest train station is Buir, which is a roughly 20 minute walk from the edge of the forest. Buir station can be accessed via the S19 train route, which runs between Cologne and Düren.

When you arrive at Buir station, walk down the steps and turn left, cross over the motorway (walking away from the town). Mostly people turn left at the junction 5 minutes from there, and from there after another 5 minutes or so turn right down a dirt track leading straight to the main forest entrance. (You can also go straight ahead at the junction instead, walking about 20 minutes down a road, turning left into the forest towards the end of it).

BY CAR:
You can park a car/caravan either at the main entrance to the forest (closest to the gathering itself) or at Hambi Camp, a legal camp in the nearby village of Morschenich, about a 40 minute walk away. Those hitchhiking should leave the A4 autobahn, which runs between Aachen and Cologne, at the Merzenich junction. The Merzenich train station is just one stop from Buir, or you can go for a longer walk from there.

We also remind you that you can easily contact us on wire, for questions and such : “forestantispedays”. As explained HERE

As always : no hippies, no yuppies, no liberals !

Against speciesism !

Smash MBR !

See you soon people!!

Contre MBR !

A très bientot !!

Workshop update

Featured

French below

Hey people, we’re one month from the event!

Here we have a first look at workshops:

– Introduction to action planning
– Lockpicking / getting through doors*
– Action climbing
– Self-defence
– Jumping fences
– Online communication
– Legal stuff / action security**
– Sneak at night / capture the flag
– Graffiti / all colours are beautiful
– Discussion: smash speciesism, end civilisation
– Film showings

*(If you want to have your own lockpicking set, it’s nice to get one beforehand, so that we have more to use at the workshop. A limited amount will be available on site, but we have a short budget. You can try and scam one e.g. here. If you got locks that could be used for the lockpicking workshop, bring them in !)

**(Bring an empty USB stick, at least 16gb per stick, and we can help you load TAILS and other cool stuff onto it!)

There are at least a few more workshops to be confirmed. We haven’t had many proposals yet from beyond the forest – we’d love to hear if you have an idea for one.

We’ll be in touch again in a couple of weeks, with more detailed info on what to expect and what to bring.

And remember you can easily reach us on WIRE: forestantispedays (as was explained fully here.)

Stay wild and see you soon!

-Introduction à la préparation d’actions
-Crochetage de serrures, passer des portes*
-Grimpe
-Graffiti, all colours are beautiful
-Discussion : éclater le spécisme, attaquer la civilisation

GROUP CREATED ON “WIRE”

Français en dessous.

Recently, we had a reflection on the accessibility of the event :

What if radical antispes who wanna daily smash the state and assist other animals in their struggles want to come but can’t because of not having a car or money, or travelling experience?

For people who live in the region it should be easy to come but what if an isolated human far away from Germany see our callouts but have to resolve to not attend because of material reasons?

Making it all the way to here is, in itself, potentially somewhat of a privilege.

We can’t destroy borders, annihilate the state or provide everyone with a car for now. But we can provide a tool to help people organise and help isolated comrades reach out to other friends.

We created an account on “WIRE”

Contact us also if you plan on comming and have space in a car so that we can help people who have and people who need connect.

It can be used as well to ask questions, wich we’ll try to answer.

In general, you can add us on WIRE to receive fast updates on the event. We may also need to ask for material support while we keep on organising. The WIRE group could make this process easier.

DO NOT SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFOS OR REAL NAME ON IT

We do not guarantee that everyone will get the help they may need but we can help people autonomously organise.

And remember : we are not an orga or a call center. Autonomy is the key, we won’t be nursing anyone.

See you soon on WIRE maybe.
May our enemies suffer in their nightmares !

INTERNATIONAL CALLOUT!

JOIN US FOR ANOTHER GATHERING FOR ANIMAL LIBERATION

During the pandemic many people started to think that online-activism is the best way of resisting…

The Hambacher Forest is a long-standing autonomous zone fighting the biggest opencast coalmine in so-called Europe. Meet us here this summer for a weekend of exchanging knowledge on the topic of direct action for animal liberation.

Many animal rights groups have become a hotbed for fascist/patriarchal/transphobic/homophobic/white-suprematist views and behaviors. Others offer a smug vegan capitalism promising to save the world if only we change our consumption habits. At this event we want to appeal to our comrades and not the masses: this is a space for like-minded individuals to share skills and perspectives on anti-speciesist struggles, outside and against bureaucratic campaigns and organizations, uncompromising in our rejection of the state, capitalism and all forms of oppression.

No liberal campaigning or protesting. No pacifist cop-hugging. No saviour complex “rescuing”. It’s time to meet, plan and make trouble!

A list of workshops will be soon announced. They will mostly be practical, along with broader discussions on animal liberation strategy. (You are also warmly invited to propose/provide your own!)

Pack your sleeping bag, get a ride, and join us in July!
